Responsible Business Day forum connects AI safeguards, privacy, cybersecurity and sustainable digital growth with two years of ESG progress
PETALING JAYA, 5 November 2026– As AI changes how businesses operate and serve people, responsible adoption requires fundamental decisions by mobile operators on how data is used, who remains accountable and how digital growth contributes toward society’s good.
CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi) brought these responsibilities into focus at its Responsible Business Day 2026, convening experts from academia, law, cybersecurity, sustainability and industry to examine how businesses can translate responsible AI principles into standards and practices. Themed ‘Responsibility in the Age of AI’, the forum also marked two years of CelcomDigi’s five-year ESG strategy to build an inclusive, sustainable and trusted digital society. The company shared progress spanning customer protection, supplier standards, AI governance and network and energy efficiency.
Philip Ling, Head of Sustainability of CelcomDigi, said, “The way we adopt technology and enable new frontier services for customers matters as much as the opportunities it creates. People need confidence that their data is protected, that organisations remain accountable for decisions, and that businesses are managing the wider impact of digital growth on society. We recognise the responsibility that comes with our scale. That means raising standards within our own business and working with others to address the challenges we share. Responsible Business Day connects that work with the practical choices facing organisations today. By bringing different perspectives together, we hope to challenge our thinking and strengthen how we put responsibility into practice.”
The forum featured speakers fromHELP University, Christopher & Lee Ong, the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute, CrowdStrike, Catalyze Transition and Mondelēz Malaysia, alongside CelcomDigi leaders, to examine human oversight of AI, responsible data use, cyber resilience and the energy demands of digital growth.
Within CelcomDigi, that approachis reflected in progress across its four ESG priorities:
Through the progress update and continuous cross-sectorcollaborations, CelcomDigi aims to strengthen its responsible businesspractices and enable a more inclusive, safe and resilient digital society.
