Issuance follows earlier acceptance of the Notice of Award for the assignment of spectrum
PETALING JAYA, 30 October 2026 – CelcomDigi Berhad (“CelcomDigi”) today disclosed that its wholly owned subsidiary CelcomDigi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("CDTel") has received from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (“MCMC”) spectrum assignments for 2x20MHz in the 2600MHz and 2x5MHz in the 900MHz spectrum frequency bands. The assignments will be for the duration of four years for 2x20MHz in the 2600MHz spectrum frequency band and five years for 2x5MHz in the 900MHz spectrum frequency band respectively.
CDTel had on 15 October 2026 accepted the terms and conditions set out in the Notice of Award by the MCMC for the 2600MHz and 900MHz spectrum frequency bands following the issuance of an Application Information Package (“AIP”) by MCMC on 14 August 2026. The full Price Component of RM381.75 mil was paid by CDTel on 15 October 2026 in accordance with the terms of the Notice of Award.
The assignment enables CelcomDigi to continuously deliver a high quality of experience for its 20.3 million customers across the country, and as the country’s widest, fastest and most secure network. It affirms its commitment to infrastructure investments to meet rising connectivity and digitalisation needs in Malaysia, now through improved capital expenditure (CAPEX) efficiency. CelcomDigi now has a contiguous 2x40MHz spectrum holding in the 2600MHz spectrum frequency band and an improved position in the 900MHz spectrum frequency band to support wider and deeper coverage across the country. This improves capacity and service quality to support growing customer demand for quality and reliability.
