CelcomDigi launches Malaysia's first industrial 5G-SA-powered Advanced Intelligent Warehouse

June 9, 2026

Smart logistics transformation to deliver greater efficiency and productivity for enterprises

SHAH ALAM, 9 June 2026 – CelcomDigi Berhad ("CelcomDigi") today launched its Advanced Intelligent Warehouse, Malaysia's first industrial business-to-business (B2B) live use case powered by 5G Standalone (5G-SA). The warehouse serves as a live demonstration of how advanced connectivity, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and automation can transform warehouse and supply chain operations at scale, delivering greater productivity, efficiency, safety and resilience across the logistics sector.

The warehouse has optimised space utilisation by 30%, increased operational efficiency by more than 50%, and improved inventory precision to up to 100% through the integration of CelcomDigi’s 5G-SA network, AI and autonomous systems.

The integrated ecosystem also creates a safer workplace by reducing manual intervention in repetitive and potentially hazardous tasks through the use of autonomous systems, AI-powered monitoring, and real-time alerts. By automating labour-intensive processes, employees are able to focus on higher-value responsibilities, support workforce upskilling, and enable businesses to build more agile and resilient operations.

The initiative was developed in collaboration with strategic technology partners including Move Robotics, Infinium Robotics, Ailytics, Cobra Security Electronics (CSE) and ZTE. They bring complementary expertise spanning autonomous robotics, drone-based inventory management, AI-powered video analytics, connected fleet management and digital twin technologies, creating an integrated ecosystem that enables smarter, safer and more efficient warehouse operations. It was also awarded a grant under the Bengkel Inovasi GLC (BIG) programme led by the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and Cradle Fund, showcasing how collaboration between Government, GLCs, startups and industry partners can accelerate technology adoption and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Located at Shah Alam, the facility was officially launched by the Minister of Communications, Dato’ Fahmi Fadzil.

CelcomDigi’s Chief Executive Officer, Albern Murty said, “As industries accelerate the adoption of AI and automation, advanced connectivity will become a critical foundation for future operations, enabling practical 5G-SA use cases that deliver impactful business outcomes at scale. Our Advanced Intelligent Warehouse demonstrates the power of bringing together connectivity, solutions and commercialisation to solve real operational challenges and create value for businesses. Through strong local partnerships and innovation ecosystems, we aim to accelerate enterprise digitalisation and support Malaysia's digital ambitions.”

Advancing intelligent logistics solutions

CelcomDigi's Advanced Intelligent Warehouse integrates six intelligent logistics solutions powered by its high-speed, secure and low-latency 5G-SA network. Its fully connected ecosystem demonstrates how intelligent warehousing can transform traditional logistics operations through real-time visibility, automation, improved accuracy, enhanced safety and greater operational resilience.

1. Warehouse Management System (WMS): Provides a centralised platform for inventory management, delivering real-time visibility across warehouse operations and enabling more efficient inventory control.

2. Autonomous Pallet Shuttle System: Automates pallet storage and retrieval processes, maximising storage density and optimising warehouse space utilisation.

3. 5G-powered Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs): Autonomously transport goods with precision and reliability while reducing manual handling requirements.

4. AI-powered Visual Surveillance System: Strengthens workplace safety and operational oversight by detecting safety violations, unauthorised access, collision risks and other incidents in real time.

5. AI Autonomous Drone System: Enhances inventory management by automating stock-taking and cycle counting processes, enabling faster inventory verification with higher accuracy.

6. Digital Nebula Platform: A digital twin solution that provides a real-time operational view of the warehouse, enabling predictive insights, workflow optimisation and faster decision-making through data-driven intelligence.

The launch builds on CelcomDigi's ongoing efforts to advance logistics innovation in Malaysia, following its collaboration with DHL Suppy Chain in 2023 to explore 5G-enabled smart logistics solutions. Beyond serving as Malaysia's first industrial 5G-SA live use-case, CelcomDigi’s Advanced Intelligent Warehouse will function as a living innovation lab where enterprises can experience, evaluate and develop practical 5G-AI applications for their own operations.

Following the launch, CelcomDigi is hosting Logistics Redefined, an industry engagement programme for warehousing and logistics players, featuring guided walkthroughs and live demonstrations of real-world 5G and AI-enabled warehouse operations. The event runs from 10 to 11 June 2026 at Hap Seng Business Park, Shah Alam.
