KUALA LUMPUR, 15 June 2025 – Embracing the spirit of 'Yakin Boleh', CelcomDigi Berhad (“CelcomDigi”) through its Arena CelcomDigi platform, took part in Hari Belia Negara 2025 with exciting activities aimed at inspiring and engaging Malaysian youth. Held at Dataran Merdeka from 13 to 15 June, the national youth celebration was the perfect stage for CelcomDigi to promote active, connected and empowered lifestyles.
At the event, CelcomDigi brought two of today’s favourite sports, pickleball and esports that drew large crowd and enthusiastic participation.
The first ever pop-up pickleball court set up at Dataran Merdeka took centre stage as youths and families eagerly tried out this fast-growing sport. Participants took part in the mini tournaments and received hands-on tips from on-ground coaching clinics. Whether first-timers or seasoned players, the court was buzzing with energy, laughter, and friendly competition all day long.
Meanwhile, over at the CelcomDigi SRG Future Pros Esports Bootcamp recruitment booth, aspiring young gamers turned up in full force for the final call to test their skills and secure a spot in the bootcamp. Designed to discover and develop rising esports talents, the bootcamp offers mentorship from the SRG team and a chance for participants to fast-track their journey into becoming future pros. The booth drew in a steady stream of determined, passionate youths ready to step up and take their skills to the next level.
The highlight of the event was the visit to the CelcomDigi booth by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia, YB Hannah Yeoh accompanied by some of Malaysia’s top athletes including Sivasangari Subramaniam; Azlan Alias , Steve Khiew Hoe Yan as well as national Paralympians Muhamad Imaan Aiman bin Muhamad Redzuan, Muhammad Ammar Aiman bin Nor Azmi and Mohamad Yusof Hafizi bin Syaharudin. They were welcomed by CelcomDigi’s Head of Brand and Marketing Services, Chan May Ling who shared an overview of the company’s youth-focused initiatives and how Arena CelcomDigi serves as a platform to empower and provide real opportunities for Malaysian youths to shine through sports.
