CelcomDigi continues to explore 5G transformative benefits with industry leaders and decision makers

PETALING JAYA, 15 August 2024 - CelcomDigi Berhad (“CelcomDigi”) recently held the fifth edition of its CelcomDigi MY5G CEO Series, as part of a broader CelcomDigi MY5G Series aimed at providing and accelerating the nation’s 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption across enterprises and the public sector in Malaysia.  

Attended by leaders and decision makers from across industries and public sector such as healthcare, law enforcement, education and city councils, the fifth edition of the CEO Series was held in collaboration with global strategic partner Microsoft, technology enabler Huawei and the National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore. The session featured real life use of 5G-enabled technologies implemented at NUH, including mixed reality-guided surgery, diagnostics and remote medical support across boundaries, facilitated by the ultra-speed and low latency of 5G.  

The session also covered how 5G, AI and cloud computing are being used to elevate the lives of communities, transforming urban landscapes into smart cities by enhancing public services including healthcare and emergency services The importance of having the right tools and applications supported with a strong ecosystem for the best 5G implementation journey was also discussed during the 2-hour discourse.

Participants of the MY5G CEO Series also had the opportunity to visit the state-of-the-art CelcomDigi AI Experience Centre (AiX) - a one-stop immersive innovation and collaboration hub to accelerate the development of world-class AI and emerging technology solutions enabled by 5G. AiX is designed on a model of strong partnerships, built together with more than 40 notable global technology and local ecosystem players. The AiX showcases 45 uses cases across 8 verticals, 13 of these are either live or being piloted with the company’s enterprise customers. 

CelcomDigi’s efforts to support Malaysian enterprises of all sizes to digitalise their businesses is in full gear, with in-depth workshops for each enterprise segment ongoing until year end. This includes hands-on digital workshops designed for micro, small, and medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to identify suitable 5G and digital solutions best suited for them. It will also host a 5G business conference and tech showcase in Kuala Lumpur later this year to encourage more corporates and large SMEs to advance their transformation agendas with 5G.
