PETALING JAYA, 24 October 2024 – CelcomDigi Berhad (“CelcomDigi”) today announced its partnership with Alliance, a global esports organisation based in Sweden. This partnership will lead to the formation of the CelcomDigi Alliance (CDAL) team, the sole Malaysian representative in the upcoming PUBG Mobile Global Championship.
As part of CelcomDigi's Generasi 5G initiative, the partnership provides CDAL with robust network support, highly reliable and uninterrupted connectivity—key elements for delivering high-performance gameplay in the upcoming championship, all from the comfort of their homes.
Beyond offering highly consistent network support, CDAL aims to give back to the esports community in Malaysia. CDAL is committed to empower Malaysia’s esports community through various initiatives. These include providing weekly community scrimmages, or competitive practice matches, designed to provide aspiring players with a platform to hone their skills, network with peers, and prepare for upcoming tournaments. A key focus of these scrimmages is women's empowerment to raise participation from women players to foster inclusivity and diversity within the gaming landscape. By nurturing local talent, it aims to build a more vibrant, equitable gaming ecosystem and strengthen the nation’s gaming community.
