BSN to digitalise Ejen Bank for better customer experience, powered by CelcomDigi

PETALING JAYA, 24 JULY 2024 – Bank Simpanan Nasional (“BSN”) and CelcomDigi Berhad (“CelcomDigi”) today announced a 5-year strategic collaboration to digitalise Ejen Bank BSN, marking a significant milestone in BSN’s ongoing digitalisation journey. Under this collaboration, CelcomDigi will provide BSN with a comprehensive Ejen Banking system infrastructure and solutions to modernise and drive the overall operational efficiencies of Ejen Bank BSN. With faster and consistent high-speed Internet connectivity, Ejen Bank BSN will be able to deliver more robust digital banking services to customers.  

The agreement was signed by BSN’s Chief Business Officer, Mujibburrahman Abd Rashid and CelcomDigi’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Afizulazha Abdullah, and witnessed by BSN’s Chief Executive, Jay Khairil and CelcomDigi’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Idham Nawawi at a ceremony held at CelcomDigi Tower in Petaling Jaya. Representatives from Silverlake, the technology partner, were also at hand to witness the ceremony.

The first phase of this partnership will see more than 2,300 Ejen Banks nationwide equipped with CelcomDigi 5G connectivity solutions and new devices. This includes dedicated technical support that will enhance the agent banks’ capabilities to offer modern banking services efficiently by leveraging CelcomDigi’s widest and fastest network.  Subsequently, the agreement will also see CelcomDigi and BSN exploring more opportunities to further enhance the Ejen Bank system infrastructure with the latest 5G-related technology, while expanding the bank’s product and service portfolio with new digital banking services and offerings.

Ejen Bank BSN is an alternative banking service by BSN that provides Malaysians in rural and remote areas access to comprehensive banking services through a network of registered bank agents.
