PETALING JAYA, 22 March 2024 – CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi) held the first MY5G SME Digital Workshop series for 2024 in Johor Bahru recently. This is the second year CelcomDigi is organising the MY5G SME Digital Workshop, following the successful sessions held last year. The workshops are aimed at supporting local micro and small enterprises in their efforts to digitalise their businesses.
Organised in collaboration with SME Association Johor Selatan, Astro, Lazada, Menumiz, MyTani Resources, TikTok Shop and Touch ‘n Go eWallet, the MY5G SME Digital workshop is designed to be a platform for knowledge sharing and learning on how SMEs can utilise 5G technology and digital solutions to enhance their businesses. The programme’s provided participants with relevant digital tools and skills that can help enhance their digital transformation journey.
Participants at the workshop gained insights into how various digital tools and solutions can help businesses increase productivity, improve customer experience, and create new revenue streams while remain competitive. At the event, the former President and current Advisor of SME Association Johor Selatan who is also the Director of Ritz & Rich AgroTech Sdn Bhd, James Tan, shared his experience in using digital tools to manage the monitoring and management of his 600-acre plantation. Other presentations by the programme partners covered various topics from managing and operating an online business to increasing brand presence in online space, maximising social media to engage customers as well as introduction to e-commerce.

This MY5G SME Digital Workshop is part of a broader CelcomDigi MY5G series that aims to support Malaysians enterprises of all sizes to digitalise their business. There will be a few more digital workshops in the pipeline this year.
The company will be organising other programmes such as the MY5G CEO Series, a gathering industry captains of Malaysia’s top public listed companies, corporates, and public sector to exchange ideas on new opportunities made possible by the convergence of 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing to drive transformation and growth for the next-generation of Malaysian enterprises.
